In May 2011 Bangor Abbey took part in the
Valley of Angels festival. Drawing on the rich heritage of
Bangor and North Down, Valley of Angels saw music and
creative arts events of all styles across venues large and
small, normal and not-so-normal, over a weekend.
As part of the festival, Bangor Abbey opened its doors for
six hours on Friday 6th May to all comers to allow them to
experience a site of worship which stretches back near 1500
years. This included a short lunchtime address by Christian
leaders from across the province, including Bishop Harold
Miller, as they too reflected on the heritage of this place.
This short promotional video for the event
gives an interesting glimpse inside the church.
