'Building Together For The Future'

How You Can Play Your Part

The total fund raising target for the ‘Building together for the future’ project – including the Rwanda element – has been set at £750,000.

At present we have £275,000 which leaves us with £475,000 to raise to complete the project. £8,000 will be required on a monthly basis to clear this amount within five years.

We appreciate that a number of people and groups have already been very generous in their giving. Some people have given one off donations, others have committed to a monthly standing order, and many of our young people have given on a weekly basis through their organisations.  We thank them for their generosity.

So how can we raise the remainder of the funds required?

While special events and other fundraising activities have contributed – and will continue to contribute – to our target, the simple fact is that nearly all of the money we need to raise will have to come from direct giving.

This will require giving that is additional to our regular weekly commitment and we recognise that everyone’s circumstances are different.  There will be those who will be in a financial position to contribute substantially more than others.  For those who feel unable to contribute as much as others, we request that you give what you can afford within your means and all donations will be gratefully received.

You can give in a number of different ways –

·       A cash gift

·       Pledge a yearly gift

·       Make a monthly contribution either by standing order or a special monthly envelope

·       Make Bangor Abbey a beneficiary in your will

·       An interest free loan

Gift Aid will also enhance your giving

If you decide to give £10 a month with Gift Aid, over the five year period the church will receive an additional £132 which will be added to your total giving, at no extra cost to you.
If 500 people do that, the parish will benefit by £66,000 over 5 years.  So do please sign a Gift Aid form if you are a tax payer.

How does it work?

We are asking you to indicate on the Pledge Form - which you can download above - how much you intend to give each year/month to the Parish Centre Building Fund.

Even if you have been contributing to the Fund over the past few years, please complete this form to give us an indication that you wish to continue with your giving.

If you have been contributing to the Fund by standing order and would like to continue, please contact your bank to amend the amount or completion date of your existing instructions.

We ask that you pray for the realisation of this project as we look towards what we can give additionally in faith.
