Bangor Abbey Sunday Groups

Bangor Abbey Sunday Group, or previously known as Sunday school, meets on a Sunday morning in the church hall. We are a group of young people from the age of three to teenagers with a number of young leaders and also some young at heart leaders.

The ‘Jigsaw’ theme is very much part of our identity. Each of the members is a piece of the ‘Jigsaw’ in the group and this then extends into the wider aspect of the work of Bangor Abbey as the group plays its part in the life of the church.

Each week we learn about God through songs, readings, stories, drama, games and crafts etc. There is a lot of fun involved and the big favourite is our ‘parachute’.

Part of our teaching involves thinking about others and we are very conscious of the needs of people less fortunate than ourselves and our weekly collection is accumulated and given to local charities. During Lent we also take part in an overseas project, which is organised by the Church Missionary Society and each year we would give at least £1100 to the particular project for that year.

Our weekly meetings are as follows: -

First Sunday of month – Everyone meets at the hall at 10.30 and we then go over to   church to take part in the latter part of the Communion service.

Second Sunday of month – Everyone attends church at 10.30 and during the service we go to the hall for our activities.

Third Sunday of month – All Age Worship at 10.30 in church.

Fourth Sunday in month – As 2nd Sunday.

Leader of Sunday Group –

Mrs Sandra Watson  [If you would like further information please contact Sandra through the Parish Office]
