The Friends of Bangor Abbey come from many denominational backgrounds but are united in our enthusiasm for exploring the Abbey's history and in preserving the present 'site'.  We are also committed to the continuing work and witness of the Church.

Through our programme of activities and fund raising events we seek to make the history of the Abbey, and the Abbey itself, available to as many people as possible locally, nationally and indeed internationally.

Through 'Friends' those who have associations with the Abbey but who now live elsewhere are able to keep in touch with the life of the church and make a contribution to its work.

Friends activities include .......  Trips to ecclesiastical sites in Britain and Ireland. Lectures & illustrated talks, Musical events, Guided tours of the Abbey and Graveyard and Fund raising.

Recently the Friends have made contributions to the restoration of the graveyard and the purchase of gardening tools as well as a donation towards the purchase of the new Church Hymnal.
